Shelter Boy – I Stand With You

Photo: Anja Jurleit

Jazz meets indie with this smooth little ditty from Shelter Boy. Those jazzy guitars are going to be in my dreams tonight, lifting me out of my own mind and into a far out bliss where everything is actually doing alright.

The Leipzig-based artist has definitely got his own unique style, blending pure musicality with raw vocals that wouldn’t feel out of place if someone was outside the big shop screaming them at you. And yet that mismatch of voice and melody works so well, adding a delightful edge to an otherwise soft as jelly song. He definitely knows how to bring the funk and make it into something new, perhaps finding a new niche that could well be the start of a whole new movement.

Whether you like walking in the sunny side of the street or you’d rather be skulking away in the shadows, you should find something to like in this one. Sound of the summer? Could be, those Daft Punk lads have held onto that one for a bit too long if you ask me.
